Lifestyle businesses exist to balance income needs with quality of life needs. The goal is to generate enough income to maintain a lifestyle that appeals to the founder, not to scale the business in hopes of a Google-sized IPO.

Giving entrepreneurs the skills to build lifestyle businesses represents an interesting trend in today’s MBA world. Business thought leaders are moving beyond shareholder value to value sustainability and personal growth. I approve.
